New Jersey

"What on earth are you doing in New Jersey" you ask?  When we got done at the race track in Watkins Glen, we started doing some research on line for things to do to supplement our income while we're traveling.  We're looking into a few things, but one of the web sites I came upon was for "RV Basic Training", a company out of California who is looking for instructors on the east coast, so Don sent in his information.  He recieved a reply within an hour asking how he could be reached.  No sooner does he send his cell number that his phone rings.  The gentleman was about to fly to New York to pick up a mobil unit to take to a convention in New Orleans and he had made an appointment with someone to give her his one day class on how to drive her RV.  This was Tuesday the 14th and he asked Don if he could meet him early Thursday morning the 16th in Washington, New Jersey.  So off we went.  There were no campgrounds around that allowed pets so our first night was spent in a Walmart.  It was up early the next morning to find a restaurant to meet him at before the 8:30 lesson.  This was very unusual for me to see such a beautiful sunrise.

It just so happened that we found a nice diner next to a closed car dealership, giving them a huge parking lot to do most of the lesson (and a place for us to sleep that night.)  Their method of teaching was extremely similar so Don got the job.  He will now cover the northeast.  Depending on where we end up this winter, he may get another territory.

Something has been buzzing, very annoyingly, in the dash.  Don called Freightliner and they sent him to this place in Piscataway, N.J.  We spent a good part of the day there.

We tried several campgrounds in N.J. but all were either "no pets" (how can anyone not want Bruno), full or VERY expensive, so we decided to head for Rhode Island, I've always wanted to see the Newport Mansions.  We made it as far as Connecticut.

Check out the tree, we think its really a camouflaged cell tower.
