More of Tucson

This was taken early in the morning at the campground.  It was at sunrise, so you know Don took that picture, not me.  But I really wish I had seen it.

We went to visit Biosphere 2.  What a place, the ingenuity and planning that had to go into building this totally enclosed ecological system copying the earth's.  Biosphere 1 being the earth itself.  The dome on the right is called a lung.  It keeps the inside air pressure like the outside air pressure so that the inside city doesn't implode or explode.  It was very interesting to see how it worked.

This glassed in building is the rain forrest.

This is the ocean.

Back to our campsite.  See the green spheres hanging on this tree, it's mistletoe.  I didn't realize that mistletoe, like spanish moss, is a parisitic plant.  We saw alot of it.

Here is a shot of the desert.  There is quite a bit of growth in this part of Arizona.

This is a good example of how the mountains change as you travel along.  This was on our way to Yuma.

See how that middle peak just seemed to pop out.

As we got closer to Yuma, there is less growth in the desert.
