Tombstone & Bisbee, Arizona

We camped in Benson, Arizona since it's so close to so many sights.  Our first treck was to Tombstone, here is an old cemetary where the people who died at the O.K. Corral are burried, among many others.  Check this one out.

This is the main street of Tombstone.  They were all store fronts, museums, etc., but it was cool to see all the "cowboys".

I found this one shop that had a few quilts for sale but most were being exhibited.  They asked me to vote for one.  I actually voted for the elephant one, the design and work was exquisite.  As far as having something for myself, the one on the left was excellent.

This was a cute one to make with scraps.

And of course, tombstone has to have a stagecoach.

Our next stop was Bisbee.  It was a unique town, built on the side of a mountain.  It was a big city during it's mining days.  They were giving tours to the underground mines, but we're both too claustrophobic so we passed.

We were more interested in the strip mine.  See how they have built a road zig zagging down to the bottom.  The orange part was water, this was a copper mine.

The color of the rock is amazing, especially how this one changes color.  Over to the right is a car, just to give you an idea how huge this was.

And I thought my back yard was a big hill.
